Conclusion
By 1944, the Campaign had declined. And, in the 1960's, the Pittsburgh Courier had been bought by the Chicago Defender. However, the Campaign had marked an important time in America's history. For the benefit of the African American population they had spoken out during WWII and called for the minority group to stand up for themselves.
During the newspaper's term, they had managed to access attention for needs of African Americans, and had addressed social ills. More importantly, they had not let the war of the time dominate people's minds and used the time period as an argument as to why Blacks deserved rights.
Although the Campaign did not achieve full equal rights for blacks, they had made an impressive beginning in the Civil Rights Movement that shaped the minds of future activists.
